WATER PUPPET SHOW
Water puppetry is a genre of Vietnamese theater. Born from the rice farming culture of farmers in the Red River Delta, it has a strong sense of Eastern and Southeast Asian culture. 
Water puppetry was developed and introduced to serve the royal court, perfected into a professional stage art genre in 1956 and has remained stable to this day. Water puppetry was created around more than 10 centuries ago, going through many changes as well as ups and downs. This art form is currently very developed, comparable to other traditional Vietnamese performing arts like “tuong” and “cheo”. Puppetry is not only found in our country but also in other countries around the world, however, only Vietnam has the art form of water puppetry. Due to its distinctive characteristic, this art form has become a symbol of the Vietnamese people, known and loved by international friends.
